It happens frequently when looking at local cookbooks from long ago.

Old, familiar names attached to the recipes, plus the ads by hometown merchants, turn back the clock as we turn the pages.  Case in point is Wartime Cookery, printed in 1943 by the Woman's Auxiliary of First Presbyterian Church, Goose Creek.
